mPWR10 Background and Overview
What does it mean to you to be on track? We asked many people what it means for them. Responses varied by individual, but they were consistently along the lines of moving in the right direction, advancing in their careers, and reaching meaningful personal and professional goals. When people describe themselves as living on track, they feel their lives are fulfilling and balanced; they are perform successfully, face challenges with ease, and routinely enjoy positive emotions, conversations, experiences and relationships. As we learned through those we interviewed, we all experience times when we are on track, and most people are looking for ways to enjoy the journey without getting derailed. Inevitably, however, we all get off track at some point so it is equally important to have the ability to get back on track quickly and stay on track more often. As we learned from coaching, mentoring and managing individuals and teams during our corporate careers spanning two decades – staying on track is easier said than done.
Our passion for helping individuals develop and enhance their personal and professional effectiveness set us on the path to create mPWR10 . This is a simple yet powerful process that allows you to accelerate your personal development and achieve your goals. Several years ago we were exposed to the principles of Positive Psychology, the study of the mindset that enables people to thrive, get more out of life and live on track. This was an ‘aha!’ moment for us. Rather than leaders’ traditional focus on fixing problems and working on areas of weakness, this data shows how focusing on strengths and enhancing optimism and resilience improves your ability to confidently navigate through challenges and be more effective. The compelling evidence we reviewed supports many interrelated benefits of a positive mindset and the habitual ways successful people think and act to stay on track. We were inspired by this approach and knew that if we could create a way for others to easily apply these scientifically-backed principles, a broad range of people could get so much more out of their lives – personally and professionally.
During the development of mPWR10 we extensively researched the literature and collaborated with Joseph Dowling, a specialist in peak performance and Positive Psychology. We discovered that a positive mindset is at the foundation of thriving in life and also serves as a psychological immune system, equipping you to be able to effectively handle life’s inevitable small and big adversities. We identified 6 proven mPWR10 habits that result in successfully getting more out of life personally and professionally.
